(no subject)

This afternoon I went up to The Old Vic to see All About My Mother, a new play based on Pedro Almodovar's film. I hadn't seen the film so had no idea what to expect except with a cast headed by Diana Rigg and Eleanor Bron it had to be interesting.
Two and a half hours later, a tale of elderly lesbians, transvestites, grieving mothers and a pregnant nun with HIV had concluded and I had had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to the theatre.
A clever mix of intricate sets and video backdrops designed by Hildegard Bechtler kept me quite enthralled.
