I’ve had a soft spot for Robert Lindsay since the days of Wolfie Smith and when I heard he was going to play in John Osbornes’s The Entertainer I thought I’d like to see it. Naturally, being me, I never got round to booking tickets and when it received rave reviews I didn’t think I’d get a ticket anyway and more or less gave up on it..
Last week we saw that the Olivier film version was being shown on TV today as part of the 100th Anniversary of Olivier’s birth. I mention the play to MPH and that it was closing soon and MPH said why don’t you go? So Wednesday I rang the Old Vic and got one of the two last tickets for today’s matinee.
